Description

The D40 level switch operates on Archimedes principle. When the non-floating Polypropylene displacer suspended from the switch is immersed in liquid, its weight is reduced by an amount equal to the weight of the liquid it displaces. This weight change is detected by a magnet and is used to actuate a powerful switch inside the electrical head of the D40. The D40 is designed to be used in water with a specific gravity of 0.95 or greater.

Applications

  • Confined locations in sumps and pits
  • Bund area warning alarms
  • Cooling tower water level control
  • Bilge water level alarm for boats
  • Suits effluent & high solids uses

D50 Heavy Duty Dual Point Level Switch

kadmin

Features

  • Australian Made

  • Super reliable magnetic action

Description

The D50 two position level switch operates on Archimedes Principle. When non floating solid displacers suspended from the switch, are immersed in liquid their weight is reduced by an amount equal to the weight of the liquid they displace. The weight change is detected and used to actuate a magnetically isolated switch. Surface agitation, froth, floating or submerged solids do not affect the action of the D50 switch. The displacement principle depends on the specific gravity of the liquid in which the displacers are suspended. The D50 is set to operate in water with a specific gravity of 0.95 or greater.

Description

The TW Series flow switches are available with various lengths of the flexible stainless steel wire from 50mm to 300mm (2” to 12”). The required wire length must be specified when ordering. The flexible stainless wire sensor offers major advantages over conventional paddles in applications where solids or semi solids are present, such as in sewage pumping. They are also suitable for use in slurry and mining applications and in many normal pumping situations where the flow velocity is high and conventional paddle type switches are unsuitable.

The flow rate required to actuate the TW flow switch will depend on many variables such as turbulence, liquid viscosity and the exact surface area of sensor wire exposed to the flow.

The TW-H models are the standard models in the TW Series. The TW-RL models are the low voltage options specifically designed for use in Ex applications and with low wetting currents.

See the data sheet linked below for more information on the available models in the TW Series and the ordering codes.

Wire Trimming Calculator

As with our Paddle Flow Switches,  the Trailing Wires for our TW Series can be cut down in length to suit your pipework if needed. Please refer to our Paddle Trimming Calculator to find the correct wire length for your application. The width of the wires is 2mm.

Please note that if you do cut down the length of your trailing wire, you must either silver solder or tig weld the end of the wire to prevent fraying.

The switch can detect very low flows, and yet has a low head loss, high flow through rating. It can be used to detect continuous or pulsed flows.

The P25 finds a myriad of applications in industrial, rural and domestic pumping systems. It is particularly well suited to pressure pumps due to its ability to detect and switch at extremely low flows. In addition the P25 can be used to protect low yield bore pumps and in tank filling applications.

There are no metal parts in contact with liquids. The P25 flow switch is supplied complete with unions and standard PVC pipe sockets for direct solvent gluing into PVC pipework. The union threads on the P25 are standard parallel BSP form and where required can be used to secure the switch directly into threaded pipework.

See the data sheet linked below for more information on the available models in the P25 Series and the ordering codes.
